Terms & Conditions
These Terms govern your use of The Occasion House website and digital event-planning portal (“Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
The Occasion House provides digital tools for organising events, including guest lists, budgets, vendors, seating, checklists, timelines and event documents. We provide software and planning tools; we are not your event planner, venue, vendor, financial adviser or a party to contracts you enter into with third parties.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate account information and keep your login secure. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account and for ensuring that your use of the Service complies with applicable law.
3. Occasion Passes
Occasion Passes are one-time purchases for a specified access period of 3, 6, 12 or 18 months. Each Occasion Pass applies to one specific occasion only. A pass for one occasion does not unlock another occasion.
4. Occasion Pass expiry
When an Occasion Pass expires, access to that occasion's planning workspace ends. Existing documents for the occasion remain accessible. Planning information is not automatically deleted merely because a pass expires, and purchasing new access for that occasion may restore workspace access subject to our then-current plans and data-retention practices.
5. Planner Pro
Planner Pro is a recurring monthly subscription that permits an account to plan and manage multiple events at the same time. The subscription renews according to the billing terms presented at checkout until cancelled. If cancelled, paid access continues until the end of the applicable paid billing period unless otherwise required by law. After access ends, planning workspaces may be locked while existing documents remain accessible.
6. Prices, payments and Paddle
Prices displayed by The Occasion House are stated in US dollars unless indicated otherwise. Applicable taxes, currency conversion or other amounts may be calculated or disclosed during checkout.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
When Paddle processes a purchase, the payment transaction is conducted through Paddle while The Occasion House supplies and supports the digital planning service. Buyers must review and accept the applicable purchase terms and Refund Policy before completing a purchase.
7. Cancellations and refunds
Occasion Passes are one-time purchases of access to the Service for the selected occasion and access period. If the event or occasion for which an Occasion Pass was purchased is subsequently cancelled, postponed, abandoned or otherwise does not take place, the Occasion Pass purchase is not refundable solely for that reason. The customer may continue to use the purchased access for that occasion for the remainder of the applicable access period, subject to these Terms.
You may cancel a recurring Planner Pro subscription through the available billing controls. Refund eligibility in other circumstances is determined by the terms presented at purchase, our Refund Policy, Paddle's applicable procedures and any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you. Nothing in these Terms removes or limits rights that cannot legally be waived.
8. Your content and guest information
You retain ownership of event information and content you submit. You grant us the limited rights necessary to host, process and display that content to provide the Service. You are responsible for ensuring you have an appropriate legal basis, consent or permission to enter, store and use personal information belonging to guests or other third parties.
9. Invitations and communications
If you create invitation messages or use sharing or messaging features, you are responsible for the content and recipients. You must not use the Service to send unlawful, deceptive, abusive or unsolicited communications and are responsible for obtaining any permissions required to contact recipients.
10. Acceptable use
You may not attempt unauthorised access, disrupt the Service, introduce malicious code, misuse other users' data, circumvent access controls, or use the Service for unlawful purposes. You may not copy, resell or exploit our software, branding or proprietary templates except as permitted by law or by us in writing.
11. Intellectual property
The Occasion House name, branding, software, interface, original templates and other proprietary materials belong to The Occasion House or its licensors. These Terms do not transfer ownership of them to you.
12. Availability and data
We aim to provide a reliable Service, but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may be maintained, improved or changed over time. You should retain copies of documents or information that are particularly important to you.
13. Third-party services
The Service may integrate with third-party providers for authentication, payments, communications or other functions. Their services may be subject to their own terms and privacy practices.
14. Suspension and termination
We may restrict or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect the Service, users or third parties, address non-payment, comply with law, or respond to a material breach of these Terms. Where appropriate, we will provide notice or an opportunity to remedy the issue.
15. Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, The Occasion House is not responsible for event outcomes, vendor performance, decisions made using planning information, or indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service develops or legal requirements change. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate. The effective date and version appear at the top of this page.
17. Governing terms and consumer rights
These Terms are intended to operate consistently with applicable law. Mandatory consumer protections in your country or region continue to apply where they cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
18. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent through The Occasion House support/contact channel published on our website. Formal business and contact details will be completed before live payments are enabled.
Important: These Terms are designed for The Occasion House's current product model. They should be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before commercial launch, particularly for Zambian and international consumer-law requirements.
